Dr. Lukens grew up in Rhode Island and moved to California in 1998.  After receiving his doctorate in Optometry from the UC, Berkeley School of Optometry, Dr. Lukens went to work in private practice in San Francisco, CA.  In May of 2009, he opened Eyewise Optometry and is very excited to be serving the community of Alameda where he lives with his wife and young son.  In addition, every Wednesday, Dr. Lukens works as a clinical instructor at the UC, Berkeley School of Optometry.

Shelly was born in San Francisco and has lived in the East Bay since she was 3 years old. She has over 11 years of experience as an optician and enjoys assisting our patients choose that perfect pair of glasses. In her spare time she is an independent consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics. Other activities that she enjoys are going to the gym, shopping, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
